Cherokee Parents for Choice Comments on G.O.P.

Cherokee Parents for Choice is grateful that the Cherokee County Republican Party and Brian Lauren's have publicly denounced the school board members who voted against adopting the charter from Cherokee Charter Academy.  It has been our position since the school’s original petition to support the charter school movement and the effort to adopt new and leading-edge ways to educate the public school students in Cherokee County.  Change does not come easily, but with the support of the G.O.P, we are now one step closer to a brighter future for all children in Georgia. The battle for choice in education has only begun in Cherokee County. It takes strong leadership to facilitate change and this kind of stance from the G.O.P  is what is needed if we are ever to catch up to the rest of the major metro county school systems
