Cherokee Parents 4 Choice Speaks Out at School Board Meeting

Here is the official statement read by Kelly Marlow at the CCSD Board Meeting Open Forum on September 1st.  We look forward to hearing our phone ring and enjoyed meeting and talking with the Board and the Superintendent after the meeting.
“Thank you Mr. Chairman.  The Cherokee Parents for Choice is a grass-roots group hosting a dialogue among parents, educators and community members to increase awareness of the issues facing our education system.
Our mission is to work with leaders such as the Cherokee County School Board, to explore every avenue in an effort to ensure a quality and equitable education for each child in our great county.
Our group is composed of parents, students, educators, business leaders and concerned citizens.
We support Mr. Chapman's commitment to challenge the board to look into the development of charter and magnet options for the district and tonight, we would like to offer our time and expertise in any effort you undertake to research and develop these options.
As experienced leaders in the public school choice movement, we pledge our unwavering support as Cherokee County comes to realize the importance of the leading-edge education innovation in our county. Thank you in advance for your dedication to our cause.”
